A Dance With Dragons by George R. R. Martin.  Fifth book in the popular Song of Fire and Ice epic fantasy series that launched the HBO show "Game of Thrones."  I liked it, but he pretty much pulled a Robert Jordan.  A thousand pages with nothing really happening.  Martin aint getting any younger.  It took him five years to release this book.  I wouldn't be surprised if he keeled over and someone else took over to wrap things up.  That's what happened with Robert Jordan and the Wheel of Time series.
