City Barbeque on Urbanspoon
City BBQ. I ate at the one in Eastgate, but there are also locations in Hyde Park, West Chester, Glenway Ave., and one is opening up in Florence this fall. The menu consists of Southern fare like ribs, chicken and sandwiches with sides like green beans, baked beans, and hushed puppies. Drinks consist of fountain Pepsi product sodas, tea, lemonade, and Nehigh bottled sodas. Service is no-frills, order from a menu board upfront, so you don't have to bother with servers and tipping. Almost everything is available for takeout. I had a half-slab of ribs, bowl of gumbo, cheese/bacon fries and lemonade. Liked how they had over six different barbecue sauces available. My only nitpick was the fries. Had hoped for shredded melted cheese instead of cheese goo. Overall, I really liked the place. Good food. Fairly affordable. Family/kid friendly. They even donate ten percent of their pre-tax profits to charity.
