Great Scott Diner. Family restaurant with a retro fifties diner decor. There's one on Ohio Pike and another one that just opened up in Amelia. I think they're trying hard to be a chain. Got an old-fashioned arcade game room, classic cars, memorabilia, and a wall full of classic toys for sale. I almost bought a 1950s-style Lost-in-Space-type robot figure for twenty bucks on the way out. The service was pretty good. And the food was awesome. HUGE servings. I got a breakfast platter. Three eggs over-easy, pork lion, biscuit and old-fashioned country gravy. The gravy was cracktastic. Milk-based, made with bacon grease, worth it for that alone. My friend Mama Sue got Southern fried chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. She thought the mashed potatoes were ok. Could tell they were instant. But loved the green beans and was impressed with the chicken. She thinks they use a cornflake batter. The rest of the menu consists of typical breakfast, family meals and diner fare. Their burgers are huge, up to a pound and use tartar sauce. They also have old-fashioned bottled root beer and a large selection of ice cream and desserts. All in all, I had a good experience. Good food at good prices in a nice kid-friendly atmosphere. Will definitely be back.
